Counterpoint

Another side of the debate, from the other side of the pond.

I Hate Macs
"I hate Macs. I have always hated Macs. I hate people who use Macs. I even hate people who don't use Macs but sometimes wish they did. Macs are glorified Fisher-Price activity centres for adults; computers for scaredy cats too nervous to learn how proper computers work; computers for people who earnestly believe in feng shui."

I don't understand the big deal. It seems to me to be just a preference - chocolate over vanilla and so forth. I happen to like both machines, though for media editing - I think final cut pro, originating with apple, has been a democratic revolution for editing films that has leveled the playing field for small indy productions.

And the viruses is kind of a non-argument - if Apples were the majority of machines used, they would also have the majority of viruses. I'm sure there weren't many Amiga specific viruses in the day, either. Okay Amigas didn't hook up to the internet you got me there, but you see my point.

Ideally, thought I have a PC, I would also like an Apple for media-specific work. But jeez, its not like you have to choose a political side. Silly.
